Lions Youth Leadership Institute: LYLI

The Lions Youth Leadership Institute (LYLI) is a flagship youth development initiative of Lions Club of Kabhre Banepa, designed to equip Leos and local youth with essential leadership skills while creating a platform for exchanging ideas from the fresh minds of the next generation. This program aligns with Lions Clubs International’s mission to empower youth, fostering their confidence, creativity, and sense of responsibility while ensuring the sustainability of community service through active youth involvement.

Objectives for This Year

  • To teach core leadership skills to Leos and youth, including communication, project management, teamwork, and ethical leadership.
  • To cultivate service-mindedness by connecting leadership learning with community service principles.
  • To provide a platform for youth voices to share innovative ideas and perspectives, fostering a culture of listening and collaboration between Lions, Leos, and youth.
  • To encourage networking and mentorship between Lions, Leos, and youth for continued personal and leadership development.

Leadership Training Workshops:
  • Practical sessions on communication, public speaking, team building, problem-solving, and effective planning.
  • Interactive activities including group tasks, debates, and project simulations to encourage active participation.
  • Sessions on ethical leadership, emotional intelligence, and time management to prepare youth for real-life challenges.
Idea Exchange Forums:
  • Dedicated time for youth to present community improvement ideas, personal development strategies, and project concepts.
  • Group discussions to refine these ideas with feedback from Lions and fellow participants, encouraging practical thinking and innovation.
  • Collection and documentation of promising ideas for potential implementation through Leo and Lions projects.
Mentorship Circles:
  • Pairing interested Leos and youth with experienced Lions for ongoing guidance beyond the institute.
  • Sharing success stories and challenges from senior Lions and young leaders to inspire and motivate participants.
Service Project Practice:
  • Participants will design and simulate a small community project, practicing leadership and teamwork while applying newly learned skills.
Recognition and Certification:
  • Certificates of participation for all attendees and recognition of outstanding contributions and ideas to motivate further leadership growth.
